Axel Becker has focused exclusively on operative limb lengthening of the upper and lower leg since the beginning of his medical career, accumulating more than 1,500 minimally invasive procedures — approximately 200 per year. He collaborated with Prof. Augustin Betz to develop and commercialise the BETZBONE® mechanical telescopic nail, and now leads the Becker Betz Institute in Freiburg as the continuation and expansion of the world-renowned Betz Institute.
