Background
Pablo Wagner Hitschfeld is the surgeon in South America with the most documented experience in the PRECICE intramedullary nail system, having performed the first PRECICE procedure at Clínica Alemana in January 2017 — simultaneously one of the first such operations in Latin America. He trained at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile with highest distinction, followed by ankle/foot subspecialty training in Chile, Spain, and Switzerland, and a fellowship in limb lengthening and reconstruction under Dr. John Herzenberg at the International Center for Limb Lengthening (Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Maryland). He has held a staff position at Clínica Alemana de Santiago since 2012 and holds an academic appointment at the Facultad de Medicina Clínica Alemana — Universidad del Desarrollo. He developed the PROMO® bunion correction technique, which is used internationally.
