Background
Dr Sheanna Maine completed her medical degree in 2002 and orthopaedic surgery training in Queensland, achieving FRACS in 2010. She undertook a fellowship in paediatric orthopaedics at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne in 2012, gaining experience in general paediatric orthopaedics, limb reconstruction, and paediatric sports medicine. She is one of only a handful of surgeons in Queensland using intramedullary 'growing nails' (PRECICE system) for limb lengthening, and is the current President of the Australian & New Zealand Limb Reconstruction Society. A competitive karate athlete, she is a gold medalist at the 2012 and 2016 Karate World Cups and represented Australia 2009–2021.
